When we decided to have a conservatory we were worried that we were losing a large chunk of our very small garden and being very much outdoor people that was a major concern.
We sought advice wherever we could get it and ended up getting 6 quotes from different companies in an effort to get things clarified in our minds. For us it was a massive decision and we didn’t want to get it wrong.
We were shown designs with patio doors, french doors, edwardian roofs, etc, etc and whilst all were really good designs with some great ideas we actually fell in love with the design from South Coast Windows.
We were filling a corner space so 2 walls already existed as part of our house, so in effect we only needed 2 sides and a roof!
What we eventually decided on was a bi fold door on each of the sides, with a brick pier on the corner as support. The roof we decided on was an orangery style, a flat roof with a lantern in it.
The finished result is fabulous, not only does the design work perfectly with the syle of our house, but the ability to fully open both bi folds means that we can be in the conservatory and out in the garden at the same time. Also the flat section of the orangery roof has allowed us to have spotlights built into the ceiling so at night time it creates a wonderful effect.
We now have a great extra room to our house, it looks very classy, it allows us to enjoy our garden, even in winter and it has got to be the nicest dining room ever. With the right advice we actually got everything we wanted and more and at a very reasonable price.
